McCarthy: We Need to Take Islamic State ‘Head On’

On Sunday’s “The Cats Roundtable” on New York City’s AM 970, host John Catsimatidis welcomed House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy on his show.

McCarthy addressed the recent terror attack in San Bernardino, CA, urging President Obama to take Islamic State “head on.”

“The more that we’re finding out – it’s a terrorist attack. But, how could you ever think that you could drop off a six-month-old baby to your grandparents and knowing that you’re going to go kill somebody?”

“Lots of times when I look at what the president is doing, I fundamentally disagree with him on foreign policy,” McCarthy later added. “When he said we needed a restart in Russia, when Yemen was an example of his foreign policy and he watched it collapse, when he said ISIL was a JV team – we need to be able to take these individuals head on. The idea that it’s just going to happen with going around and stepping back from the world stage I think is wrong.”
