Thursday Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) told The Des Moines Register editorial board that concerns about his electability are unfounded because he said he believed he would do better than Hillary Clinton in a head-to-head match-up.

Sanders said “In the last match-up that compared Secretary Clinton and myself to Trump, I beat Trump by thirteen points and I think she beat him by seven points. Okay and I think that’s not unusually. We do better against Trump in most cases — not all — in most cases than Hillary Clinton.

He added, “So the facts are in terms of a general match-up I believe we will do better against Trump, or another Republican candidate than Clinton will.”
