TEL AVIV – Drake gave teenage fans a surprise when he showed up to give a performance at a Bat Mitzvah in New York City this week.

Several videos circulating on social media show the black Jewish rapper dancing and singing hit songs including “Hotline Bling,” which he sang with the Bat Mitzvah girl.

In 2011, Drake received $250,000 to play at the Bar Mitzvah of the son of then-president of NBC, Jeff Zucker. By industry standards, that sum is considered a steal, with some artists like Kanye West reportedly demanding a million dollars for private event performances.

The rapper, who attended a Jewish day school in Toronto and was himself Bar Mitzvahed, spoofed his coming-of-age ceremony in a Saturday Night Live skit two years ago.

Drake also reenacted his Bar Mitzvah in the video for his 2012 song “HYFR” (an acronym of Hell Yeah F*** Right). The video, containing profane language and sexually explicit lyrics, was filmed at a synagogue in Miami.

On Monday, Breitbart reported that Drake’s latest video, for his single “Work,” features the hip hop superstar getting intimate with Rihanna.
