Hillary: Trump Given No Indication He Understands the Gravity of Being President

Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton said Republican presidential front-runner and potential future opponent Donald Trump has “given no indications that he understands the gravity of the responsibility that goes with being commander in chief.”

Clinton said, “When I listen to Donald Trump saying some of what he’s saying about foreign policy and national security, even I find it scary. This is terrain nobody has ever gone to. Let’s open the door to countries having nuclear weapons, running contrary of decades of American bipartisan policy. Let’s punish women for exercising their most personal rights. Let’s have a mantra that he keeps going back to that wages are too high.”

She added, “He’s given no indications that he understands the gravity of the responsibility that goes with being commander in chief. And that will be a big part of my campaign. At some point, he’s going to have to be held to the standards we hold for anybody running for president and commander in chief. What is it that you know? What is it that you have done? And what is it that you are proposing to do as president and commander-in-chief?”
