Fournier: The Clintons Have ‘a History Of Squandering Trust’

RONfou

Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” National Journal’s Ron Fournier said both former President Bill Clinton and Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton have “a history of squandering trust.”

Fournier said, “This is an election of negative partisanship. They know Americans are going to vote against who they hate the worst. This is effective. Trust is the goal point of politics, supposed to be, and the Clintons for all their strengths have a history of squandering trust. And this was, again, this was a cynical strategy by the Clinton people. They gambled that trust was not going to matter, that they could get away with this email business and the public would forgive them or they would draw a candidate even worse, more untrustworthy than herself.”
