Krauthammer: Obama Is Trying to ‘Deny’ Connection Between Terror Attacks, Islam

Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer reacted to President Barack Obama’s speech earlier in the day regarding the Orlando terrorist shooting and the country’s fight against terror.

According to Krauthammer, Obama’s reluctance to use the word “Islam” in his labeling of the incident was indicative of him trying to deny the link between Islam and the terror attacks that have plagued the United States.

“Violent extremism is a completely empty phrase,” Krauthammer said. “No one has ever strapped on a suicide vest in the name of extremism. Nobody dies in the name of extremism.”

“Obama is deliberately trying to deny, or to hide or to disguise the connection between all of these disparate attacks and groups,” he added. “And if you want to mobilize a country behind you, you need to tell them who the enemy is, why it’s doing what it is. FDR did not say the day after Pearl Harbor, ‘the day which will live in infamy,’ ‘We were attacked by the violent extremists.'”
