Kristol: I’m Not Leaving GOP — I Like the Party, Just Not Trump

Monday on Newsmax TV’s “The Steve Malzberg Show,” Weekly Standard Editor Bill Kristol, a self-described member of the “never Trump” movement, said he is not leaving the Republican Party over his dislike of the presumptive party presidential nominee Donald Trump, like his colleague George Will.

Kristol said, “I like the Republican Party. I don’t like Donald Trump. I think he is a bad nominee. But I am comfortable with a party of Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Joni Ernst, Tom Cotton, Ben Sasse and a whole bunch of pretty good governors and younger office holders. I’m sticking with the Republican party. Hey look, after November, who knows. Maybe everything will fall apart. Maybe Trump will win and then people like me will have to see how he governs. No, I’m not leaving any party not that I’m such a big deal in the party. I don’t think Virginia has party registration so I guess I’m not officially registered. But I have voted Republican in every presidential election in my lifetime.”
