NFL Player Who Lost Finger in Fireworks Accident Now Starring in Fourth of July Fireworks PSA

Last year, New York Giants star defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul lost a finger and suffered severe damage to his right hand in a fireworks accident.

Pierre-Paul’s injury cost him millions of dollars and almost ended his career, but he was able to come back and play eight games using a gigantic club to cover up his disfigured hand.

For this year, the 27-year-old is teaming up with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to warn others of the dangers of playing with fireworks.

Pierre-Paul urged viewers to keep fireworks away from kids and leave it to the “fireworks professionals.”
