California Police Searching for Three Men Involved in Murder of Check-Cash Store Owner

Authorities in Buena Park, CA released surveillance video hoping to catch three men who fatally shot a 24-year-old man Friday at a gas station, says a report by ABC 7.

According to police, Maher Yousef was targeted by the three suspects seen in the video because he runs a check-cashing business. Yousef was followed from his business to a nearby gas station where he pulled over to check on a flat tire.

Yousef was surrounded in his car by the men, who demanded money and searched the car, but he did not carry cash from the store, family says.

After a struggle, one of the men opened fire, shooting Yousef in the head.

Noura Yousef, Maher’s sister, remembered her brother as a hard-worker who was proud of the business he had built up since he was 17.

“He was so hard-working. He always told me, ‘No matter what you do, don’t be lazy,'” she told ABC 7.

Buena Park police released the video hoping for assistance identifying the suspects, urging anyone with information to call.
