Hunt: Trump ‘Comfortable Playing the Race Card,’ ‘Like George Wallace’

Monday, on Bloomberg’s “With All Due Respect,” Bloomberg View Columnist Al Hunt said presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump sounded like segregationist and former governor of Alabama George Wallace in declaring himself “the law and order candidate.”

Hunt said, “Yeah, maybe a combination of Nixon, but even more like George Wallace. Donald Trump has always been comfortable playing the race card. As you know, John, that’s what the birther issue was all about. And if racial tensions get inflamed in this country, he will no doubt do it again, and perhaps to his advantage.”
