CNN’s King: Emails Remain ‘Flashing Red Light’ For Clinton, Questions of Whether ‘Will We Learn More about Her Emails’

On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Situation Room,” CNN Chief National Correspondent John King stated Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s email conduct “remains the biggest flashing red light for her campaign.” And there are “questions about will we learn more” about Clinton’s emails.

King said, while discussing Clinton’s emails “Look, this remains the biggest flashing red light for her campaign. A, the questions about will we learn more about her emails, about whether it’s — the notes being turned over now from the FBI interview to Congress. Are there more emails to come as we go through what the State Department now says it will turn over to this conservative group Judicial Watch in the lawsuit? Is there something in the DNC hacking? So, there are questions about the specifics of the emails, and then there’s the broader question that she has her one big problem, is honesty and trustworthiness. And so, it’s best for the Clinton campaign to talk about this as little as possible, number one. But it would be easier if she would say, I heard Director Comey. He said some pretty damning things about me. Maybe I don’t agree with all of it, but this is even a bigger problem than I thought it was in the beginning, and i’m really really sorry, and it will never happen again. If she could do that, there’d be less questions about this, but she can’t bring herself to do that, so here we are.”
