Schweizer: Clinton Email, State Dept-Foundation Probes ‘Joined At the Hip’

Friday on Fox New Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” while commenting on Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s pay-to-play accusations between then-Secretary Clinton’s State Department and her family’s organization, the Clinton Foundation, author of “Clinton Cash” Peter Schweizer said the controversy and scandal over the emails and Clinton Foundation were “joined at the hip.”

Schweizer said, “Here’s the thing I think is so vitally important for people to recognize. The whole controversy and scandal over the emails and Clinton foundation are joined at the hip. The reason they set up the private server, I know believe, and the reason they tried to delete the emails is when you are engaged in pay-to-play, you need a means of communication—and email is the way to do it. You can’t do that on the official government network because it might be detected. People can file a Freedom of Information request so you need a private server. These two scandals are connected.”

He added, “What we now have with these emails coming out from Citizens United and Judicial Watch is very, very clearly, if you are a foreign oligarch who gave money to The Clinton Foundation, the way to get access, the way to get meetings with people, the way to get action on specific items was to email The Clinton Foundation and to have them contact the State Department. I think intention is there. I for the life of me don’t see how this could not be the subject of a federal investigation. You have got political figures in Alabama and New Jersey in jail on far less evidence than what the Clinton appear to have done here.”
