Bob Franken: Clinton Has Gotten ‘Slick Hillary’ Reputation With Voters Because ‘Many’ Answers Are ‘Not Exactly True’

On Monday’s broadcast of “MSNBC Live,” columnist Bob Franken argued that Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “is so careful, so lawyerly with her answers, many of which prove to be not exactly true as things go down, that she has gotten a reputation with the voters of being, let me coin a term here, slick Hillary.”

Franken began by responding to host Ari Melber’s statement that Clinton’s fans, supporters, and aides defend Clinton’s lack of press conferences by stating that press coverage is just about her scandals, instead of policy by stating, “I don’t know how to break this to all those people, but it’s the press that decides the questions, not the campaign. That’s the way it works in a democracy.”

He added Clinton has to be “very candid, and appear candid with her answers. I mean, she is so careful, so lawyerly with her answers, many of which prove to be not exactly true as things go down, that she has gotten a reputation with the voters of being, let me coin a term here, slick Hillary.”
