Pence: FBI Investigation Shows Hillary Clinton Is the ‘Risky Choice in This Election’

On this weekend’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” while discussing the Federal Bureau of Investigation reopening the investigation into Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s use of a private unsecured email server during her tenure as secretary of state, Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Mike Pence (R-IN) said the investigation was “convincing millions of Americans that Hillary Clinton is just a risky choice in this election.”

Pence said, “The simple fact is that the decision by the FBI this summer was incomprehensible to millions of Americans. The director of the FBI literally called a press conference in which he chronicled one violation of the law after the other and then announced that he was not going to pursue charges or recommend charges against Hillary Clinton in this case. Two days later, he literally undercut that decision by going before the congress and saying in so many ways that Hillary Clinton had misrepresented the facts.”

“You remember that famous dialogue between Trey Gowdy and the director of the FBI where he said that Hillary Clinton said that nothing marked classified was on her emails, was that true, the director said it was not true,” he continued. “She said had never sent classified e-mails. That was not true. So I think what we already know here is troubling to the American people, and it’s convincing millions of Americans that Hillary Clinton is just a risky choice in this election. I think that’s why since Friday you see more momentum, but frankly, there was enormous momentum in our campaign before Friday because the American people are focusing on the choice.”
