Cokie Roberts: ‘Probably’ ‘A Strong Sentiment About Not Having a Woman President’

During ABC News’ Election Night coverage political commentator argued that “[T]here probably is a strong sentiment about not having a woman president.”

Roberts said, “[T]here probably is a strong sentiment about not having a woman president. And that is something, we’ve never had a woman president, and we’ve talked about excitement among women to have a woman president, but there’s always in these situations at least equal amounts of hostility to that kind of change. And the fact that we’re seeing this, particularly among non-college-educated white men is not surprising, and I think some of it has to be attributed to the fact that Trump is running against a woman.”
