On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” columnist Mike Barnicle argued that gender wasn’t “the only issue” in the 2016 presidential campaign, rather, “frustration and anxiety among the voters, real anger about inequity, that was the issue.”

Barnicle said that while it is easy to criticize Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s campaign in retrospect, and it was a “very well-run campaign,” it was also an “isolated campaign too, clearly, in retrospect.”

He added, “[G]ender wasn’t the only issue…and this sort of rage and frustration and anxiety among the voters, real anger about inequity, that was the issue. Class was the issue. Income was the issue.”
