Biden: ‘Can’t See the Circumstance’ Where I’d Run in 2020, But ‘Never Say Never’

During an interview broadcast on Tuesday’s edition of CBS’ “The Late Show,” Vice President Joe Biden said that he doesn’t “see the circumstance” where he’d run for president in 2020, but that he’s learned “to never say never.”

Biden remarked that he told reporters that he was running for president in 2020 so he could announce he wasn’t running again and be popular again.

He added that while he doesn’t plan on running for president again, “to say you know what’s going to happen in four years” isn’t “rational.”

Biden further stated, “I can’t see the circumstance in which I’d run, but, what I’ve learned a long, long time ago, Stephen, is to never say never. You don’t know what’s going to happen. I mean, hell, Donald Trump’s going to be 74. I’ll be 77 and in better shape.”
