Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) reacted to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling upholding a halt of President Donald Trump‘s executive order restricting immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries to the United States and said Trump should throw his order “in the trash.”
Schumer said, “I think he ought to throw it in the trash. I think this executive order is so bad and so poisoned and its genesis is so bad and terrible that he ought to just throw it in the trash can.”
He added, “It doesn’t really make us safer. It doesn’t focus on the reasons the areas where we really need to tighten up.”
