WaPo’s Marcus: ‘Maybe’ Trump Voters Don’t Care About Poor People ‘As Much’

On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Hardball,” Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus responded to a question on whether Trump voters care about poor people by stating, “maybe not as much.”

Marcus said, “$880 billion, over the next decade, cut out of Medicaid. He promised–I just saw it on your screen–not to touch it. How do you explain that one?”

Host Chris Matthews then stated, “Well, that’s poor people.”

Marcus responded, “Well, that’s a good point.” Matthews then asked, “Do they care? Do the Trump voters care about poor people?”

Marcus answered, Well, the Medicaid expansion [untillegible] a lot of people. So, maybe not as much. But –.”
