On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Lead,” Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) stated that the US will have to import renewable energy technology if it pulls out of the Paris climate agreement, and “Like the missiles in Cuba in 1962,” the threat is foreign “renewable energy technologies are pointed at our economy.”

Markey said, “The threat to our country are the windmills pointed at us, coming from China. Like the missiles in Cuba in 1962, the threat to us today are that these renewable energy technologies are pointed at our economy. We’ll be importing, rather than exporting these technologies for a generation if he pulls out of this accord.”
