Limbaugh: Democrats in Trump Era Like Steelers Versus Patriots with Brady at QB

Friday, conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh compared the current state of Democrats to what happened with the Pittsburgh Steelers when Tom Brady took over as starting quarterback for the New England Patriots.

Limbaugh said the Patriots, much like President Donald Trump leading up to the election, were not given any chance to win coming into the 2002 AFC Championship game. The Patriots went on to beat the Steelers and then win the Super Bowl that year, and the Steelers claimed they were robbed and should have won.

In the first game of the next season, the Steelers, who were confident they were the best in the league coming into the new season, and Patriots faced off again and the Patriots won 30-14.

“The point is that the Steelers were never in the New England Patriots’ league, while in their minds they thought the Patriots were Bush minor leaguers,” Limbaugh explained. “And it’s almost identical to the way the Democrats are dealing with Trump today.”

Since Brady took over, the Patriots are 10-2 against the Steelers, with one loss at the hands of backup Matt Cassel, who took over after Brady tore his ACL and MCL in the first quarter of their season opener versus the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008.
