Huckabee Sanders: Trump Is ‘Disappointed’ But ‘Clearly He Has Confidence’ in AG Sessions

Huckabee Sanders

Thursday at the audio-only White House press briefing, deputy White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said President Donald Trump had “confidence” in Attorney General Jeff Sessions when asked about a New York Times report in which the president said he would not have appointed Sessions if he knew Sessions would recuse himself from the investigations into Russia interference 2016 presidential campaign.

Sanders said, “As the president said yesterday, he was disappointed in Attorney General Sessions’ decision to recuse himself. But clearly he has confidence in him, or he would not be the attorney general.”
