Boehner Tells Trump to ‘Quit Tweeting’: ‘What the Hell Is the Point’ Going After Brzezinski or Scarborough?

In a video given to The Washington Post from a person who requested anonymity, former House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) criticized President Donald Trump for his use of Twitter.

The video was taken on July 21 at trade show hosted by Good Neighbor Pharmacy at Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas.

“The president could quit tweeting,” Boehner said. “He keeps getting in his own way by criticizing Comey or criticizing the press every day.”

He continued, “There are a couple of things you learn when you get into politics. One is you never get into a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel. He does it every day.”

He added, “It may have worked during the campaign. But I think he would do himself well if he would just slow the tweeting down and just focus on what he’s doing and not being critical. I mean, going after Mika Brzezinski or Joe Scarborough? What the hell is the point?”
