ESPN’s Foxworth: People Who Blame Anthem Protests for Turning Off NFL Either ‘Lying’ or ‘Moral Compass Is Askew’

ESPN’s Domonique Foxworth is not accepting the results of the J.D. Power poll that found 26 percent of sports fans surveyed quit watching the NFL over national anthem protests started by Colin Kaepernick.

Foxworth said Friday on ESPN’s “First Take” that the people who say the protests made them lose interest in watching NFL games are “either lying or their moral compass is askew.”

“The people who are responding to it and all the people out there who would agree with it, but didn’t get a chance to do the poll, they’re either lying or their moral compass is askew,” Foxworth argued. “I don’t necessarily believe that they stopped watching it because of Kaepernick, but that’s what they said, so maybe they’re lying. I can’t accept that it’s a moral reason to stop [watching].”
