In wake of Miami Dolphins starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill going down with a knee injury in pre-season practice, Fox Sports 1 “Undisputed” co-host Shannon Sharpe wishes he could have advised free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick to have not worn a Fidel Castro t-shirt so it would not have hurt his chances getting signed by the Dolphins.

“A lot of times when people do not like the message they will do everything they possibly can to destroy the messenger,” Sharpe stated. “So you want to make sure you give people no reason to ever doubt your cause and why you’re doing this.”

“I wish I would have talked to Colin before he wore that t-shirt because I would have advised him not to,” he added.

Kaepernick also praised the deceased Cuban dictator in a phone interview with a Cuban media member days before playing in front of the Dolphins fan base. Dolphins fans, a large number of Cuban descent, greeted Kaepernick with hostility when he took the field in November.
