Van Hollen: Trump’s ‘Fire and Fury’ Comment ‘Enhances the North Korean Leader’ and ‘Diminishes’ POTUS

On Wednesday’s broadcast of “CNN Newsroom,” Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) argued that President Trump’s “fire and fury” comments about North Korea “enhances” North Korea’s leader and “diminishes” the president.

Van Hollen said, “[W]hat the President did was dangerous. Because it created this new possible red line, putting American credibility at stake. And I should say, Brooke, when you engage in this war of words with the North Korean leader, it actually enhances the North Korean leader. This is exactly what Kim Jong-un wants to see happen, and it diminishes the president of the United States.”
