Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Deadline,” host Nicolle Wallace said today at a joint news conference with the Prime Minister of Spain Mariano Rajoy, President Donald Trump “sounded more like the leader of his own three-ring circus than the president of a country.”
Wallace said, “Today in both a Rose Garden press conference and in a flurry of tweets spanning from last night to this morning, Donald Trump sounded more like the leader of his own three-ring circus than the president of a country facing a humanitarian crisis at home, political defeats on a health care legislation and in a GOP primary election in Alabama, and a looming nuclear standoff with North Korea. We start today with the president’s brand-new public posture on Puerto Rico. In remarks meet alongside the leader of Spain, Donald Trump repeatedly touted his own high marks from the people suffering in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.”
Wallace then asked her panel, “Do you think he knows that Puerto Ricans are Americans? Serious question.”
