Dem Rep Sanchez on Pelosi: ‘It’s Time to Pass the Torch to a New Generation of Leaders’

Thursday on C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers,” Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) said it was time for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to “pass the torch” of her leadership role on “to a new generation.”

When asked if Democrats should keep the same leaders if they win back the House in the 2018 midterm elections,” Sanchez said, “I personally think that our leadership does a tremendous job, but I do think we have this real breadth and depth of talent within our caucus, and I do think it’s time to pass the torch to a new generation of leaders. And I want to be a part of that transition. I want to see that happen. I think that we have too many really great members that don’t always get the opportunities that they should and you know I would like to see that change.”
