Manchin: I Thought the State of the Union ‘Was Good’

On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) praised President Trump’s State of the Union Address.

Manchin said, “I thought it was good. I mean, you know, I’m an optimist. So, I’m looking at everything I can that basically is going to lift us up and work together. So, the things that he hit on Joe, was clean coal technology. … And I need to work on the pensions for my miners, my miners need their pension because they’re going to be losing it. I need his help for that. He talked about opiate addiction, which you know we have a horrific problem in our state and our whole entire country. We need funding now for that. So, he touched on that. Infrastructure, I said I’ve never seen a pothole that had a Democrat or a Republican’s name on it. So, we’ve got to have infrastructure. And the military, we’re all in support of the military.”
