Giuliani: Given Investigation ‘Irregularities,’ ‘Foolish’ to Let Mueller Interview Trump Without an ‘Open Mind’

Wednesday during a phone interview with Fox News chief White House correspondent John Roberts, President Donald Trump’s attorney and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said it “would be foolish” to have Trump interviewed by special counsel Robert Mueller, unless he had an “open mind” to the possibility that Trump was telling the truth.

Giuliani said, “My position is not determined yet. I keep an open mind.”

He continued, “What I’m concerned about, are they objective about the president’s interview? Meaning do they have an open mind to the fact that he could be telling the truth and Comey may be lying? If they have an open mind on that, then this is something we would consider. If they don’t, given all of the irregularities in this investigation, we would be foolish to have him be interviewed.”
