Watch: MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ Laughs at NY Governor Andrew Cuomo for Saying America ‘Was Never That Great’

Thursday, MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” reacted to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo taking a shot at President Donald Trump’s slogan “Make America Great Again” by saying America “was never that great.”

The president took to Twitter and slammed Cuomo, who he said was “having a total meltdown.”

Cuomo responded to Trump, saying the president’s idea of “great again” would be “back to discrimination.”

NBC analyst John Heilemann said Cuomo’s response tweet was that of someone whose “skin has been gotten under.”

He added, “Sorry, Governor Cuomo, that was just not a well-formulated tweet.”

“Morning Joe” guest host Willie Geist read Cuomo’s office’s statement that he actually believed America is great.

“Never a good day when you have to come out and explicitly clarify that you believe America’s great,” said Geist as the panel laughed at Cuomo’s statement.

MSNBC’s Kasie Hunt also chimed in, saying Cuomo’s tweet “glossed over the United States’ accomplishments such as liberating Europe from Nazi Germany.
