Serena Williams: Everybody Should Be ‘Grateful’ and ‘Honored’ for Kaepernick, Reid’s Protests

Friday, tennis star Serena Williams praised activist NFL free agents Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid for their protests and work in the community.

According to Williams, “every athlete, every human and definitely every African-American” should be completely grateful for and honored” at how the two former San Francisco 49ers have done so much for the “greater good.”

“They really use their platform in ways that is really unfathomable,” Williams told reporters. “I feel like they obviously have great respect from a lot of their peers, especially other athletes, people that really are looking for social change.”
