Kerry: Congressional Republicans ‘Have Shown an Immorality’

On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show,” former Secretary of State John Kerry stated Republicans in Congress “have shown an immorality.”

Kerry said, “[T]he Republicans in the United States Senate and in the House, but in the Senate particularly where there’s a greater expectation and capacity to make a difference, they are — they have shown an immorality. They have shown an abuse of responsibility in their jobs. They take an oath as a senator to uphold the Constitution of the United States, and in so doing, certainly to uphold the rule of law. They are consciously, except for two or three of them, one of them passed away now, turning their backs. They are more interested in protecting their power, their chairmanships, and they are not defending the Constitution or defending the Senate. They are defending their party and their president.”
