FS1’s Carter to Jaguars: ‘Swallow Your Pride’ and Call Colin Kaepernick

Monday, NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver and Fox Sports 1 “First Things First” co-host Cris Carter offered some “free advice” to the Jacksonville Jaguars to save their season: “swallow your pride” and sign Colin Kaepernick.
The Jaguars boast one of the best defenses in the NFL, but quarterback Blake Bortles has not lived up to his first-round draft selection when he was taken third overall in 2014. He was benched Sunday for Cody Kessler.

According to Carter, Kaepernick will provide a spark in the locker room.

“Now, you want to galvanize your locker room? You’re having a problem with that defense? Call Kap. Bring Kap to the locker room. Let’s see if Kap can change it because he’s better than the quarterback you have. And I just believe right now in the season, he can make a difference on that football team.”

Carter, who is close to Kaepernick, said the Jaguars know they made a “mistake” by not signing Kaepernick in the offseason, which he claimed came down to “strictly a political decision.”

“They made a mistake by not signing Kap,” Carter said. “They know it behind the scenes. Nick [Wright] and I know it. They talked to Kap but we know it was strictly a political decision.”
