Hillary: If Abrams ‘Had a Fair Election, She Already Would Have Won’

While speaking at an awards ceremony at the University of Texas at Austin’s LBJ School of Public Affairs on Tuesday, former Democratic presidential nominee and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated that “If she’d had a fair election,” Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams would have already won the Georgia governor’s race.

Hillary said, “I know Stacey well, she was one of my really strong surrogates in the campaign. If she’d had a fair election, she already would have won.”

She continued, “[T]o see the continuing distortion of democracy, the perversion of politics, by the many ways that are being employed to discourage people from voting, to suppressing their vote, to purging them from the voting rolls, to not counting their votes, is just maddening.”
