GOP Rep. Kinzinger: Pulling Out of Syria ‘Devastating’ – ‘They’re Celebrating’ in Moscow and Tehran

On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Daily Briefing,” Representative Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) criticized President Trump’s announcement that the U.S. will pull its troops out of Syria as a “devastating blow” to United States foreign policy and the fight against ISIS. Kinzinger further declared, “They’re celebrating in Moscow and in Tehran right now. They’re trembling in Tel Aviv.”

Kinzinger said, “This is a devastating blow, if in fact, this happens, a devastating blow to the continuing fight against ISIS. This gives huge impetus to Iran to continue their presence in Syria.”

He later added, “[I]f this is, in fact, within 24 hours, the devastating result is going to be mind-blowing. And we can no longer look back at 2011, when Obama left Iraq, which I think was a huge, huge mistake…to see something like that happen, know that led to the rise of ISIS, and then repeat the exact same thing. I want to support President Trump in every way I can. But on something like this, you have to look at this and go, this is going to be devastating for foreign policy. And I don’t even think we begin to know the ramifications. They’re celebrating in Moscow and in Tehran right now. They’re trembling in Tel Aviv. And in Washington, we’re confused. Because nobody saw this coming.”
