Police are investigating an incident of a Democratic National Committee campaign bus that was caught on camera dumping human feces onto the street between campaign stops in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

The bus, which was branded with the slogan “Forward Together,” was campaigning for Hillary Clinton in the swing state of Georgia, which has consistently polled Trump and Clinton within the margin of error.

However whilst stopping off, local businessman Mark Winter saw the bus dumping human excrement into a storm drain and consequently took photos of the incident with his phone.

“I don’t care who you are, whether you’re Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, you don’t dump human waste down a storm drain. It’s just wrong,” he said.

Police who were called to the incident were reportedly greeted with a foul smell and used toilet paper scattered across the ground.

Talking to WSB-TV 2 News, a DNC spokesperson apologized for the incident, saying that it was an “honest mistake.”

“We were unaware of any possible violations and have already taken corrective action with the charter bus company to prevent this from happening again.”

“Furthermore, the DNC will work with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, as well as local and state officials to determine the best course of corrective action,” they continued.

“We apologize to the Lawrenceville community for any harm we may have caused,” they added.
