Pinkerton: ‘One Giant Leap’ — the Apollo Project and the American Way

The space program was not just about the guts and grit of astronauts with “the right stuff,” nor about the brilliance of the engineers who designed the spacecraft.  It was also about the financial and organizational ability of government leaders, corporate executives, and white- and blue-collar workers—all teaming up to get the job done.

Young Conservatives Educate ‘Hamilton’ Attendees on Founding Father’s True Views on Immigration

Young conservative activists staged an intervention in New York City for attendees at the roughly $700-a-ticket Hamilton musical on Broadway, whose hip-hop mash-up of real history with far-left propaganda lets wealthy Democrats reimagine the nation’s founding father through a progressive lens—rather than the real Hamilton, who was a nationalist and whose views on immigration, assimilation, and national identity more closely align with the President-elect and figures like Pat Buchanan.

Jackson Gone from 20

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew is expected to announce this week that Alexander Hamilton’s face will remain on the front of the $10 bill and a woman will replace Andrew Jackson on the face of the $20 bill, a senior government source told CNN on Saturday.

Is Donald Trump the Andrew Jackson or Aaron Burr of Our Time?

It seems establishment Republicans can’t make up their mind. Those who believe that the 2016 Republican primary season has been the dirtiest campaign in American history need to think again. The pro-Ted Cruz people recently took a shot at Donald Trump that mirrored the 1828 campaign between Andrew Jackson and John Quincy Adams.

GOP Presidential Field Fails the Founders

At least two Republican presidential candidates will stand with Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. During Wednesday’s CNN’s Republican presidential debate, candidates were asked about the proposed changes to the $10 bill and the woman with whom they would prefer to replace the country’s first treasury secretary.

Blue State Blues: A Senate Without Virtue, or Pride

The Iran deal will fail to muster enough votes to override an anticipated presidential veto. In the Senate, it may even fail to gather enough votes to stop Democrats from filibustering. The fact that Minority Leader Harry Reid wants to protect his members from having to vote on the Iran deal at all tells us exactly how bad it is. But it also tells us how weak the Republican opposition to the Iran deal has been from the start. And there must be political consequences.

Bernanke on Hamilton: Say it Ain’t so, Jack

I must admit I was appalled to hear of Treasury Secretary Jack Lew’s decision last week to demote Alexander Hamilton from his featured position on the ten dollar bill. My reaction has been widely shared, see for example here, here, here, here, and here.
