The Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department’s Twitter feed has become known as a relatively scary place on the web to watch on a nightlly basis. During day-light hours, MPD tweets about car accidents or disabled automobiles often. 

However, as nighttime falls,  MPD’s twitter feed begins to change. DC’s violent crime rate rocketed in February 2012  across all police districts but Washington managed to get itself off of Forbes most dangerous city list by October.  Still, one may want to watch themselves when the evening hours arrive in the district these days.
