“Help. Send help. No joke, cannot walk. Medicine not working. Need doctor.”

Those are the words that were scrawled on a note that saved the life of a homeless man in Washington state, thanks to his dog.

The man was living in a camp out in the woods and had become completely immobile after suffering a medical emergency.  He was without a phone and sent his dog out with the note attached to the harness as a last ditch effort, according to authorities who spoke to KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.  A woman walking her own dog in the area spotted the man’s dog, and called 911 after reading the note.

Aware that a man hung out in the woods nearby, police were able to find him and get him to a hospital, where he was treated and released.

Fittingly, the dog’s name is Buddy.

There’s your dose of happy for the day.
