HOUSTON, TX – The hunt is on for the parents of a baby who was found alone in a parking lot after falling off the trunk of a car. A witness told police they saw the baby strapped in a car seat fall from the trunk as a distraught woman, believed to be the mother drove away.
A good Samaritan, Marcus Smith, came to the baby’s aid. “When I picked her up, took her to my apartment and looked at her, she had a bruise over her head. So I know she hit the stroller or she hit the pavement, I’m not sure,” Smith said.
Police and child protective service investigators are present at Texas Children’s Hospital where the baby was taken for evaluation. The child’s grandparents are also there but thus far, no sign of the mother.
