FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ww.incnow.tv) – After receiving an anonymous tip June 9, Indiana Conservation Officers seized a live bald eagle from the apartment of a 49-year-old Greencastle man. 

Jeffrey Henry was issued a summons to appear in Putnam County court for the unlawful taking or possession of non-game migratory birds, and if convicted, could face up to 60 days in jail and fines of $500.

Investigators said that Henry captured the juvenile bald eagle near his apartment a few days prior. 

The bald eagle is now in a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center. 

Bald eagles are protected under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.
