According to an NBC4 New York/Marist/WSJ poll, Christine Quinn has now overtaken Weiner in the Mayor’s race with a 9% lead.  The poll shows Quinn is ahead with 25% support among Democrat primary voters compared to Weiner’s 16%.

The poll is the first conducted since Weiner admitted to sending salacious internet messages post-congressional resignation.

“For many Democrats the latest revelations about Anthony Weiner are more of the same, only more so,” said Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion. “Weiner has lost his lead and his negatives are at an all-time high.”

Prior to the scandal, Weiner was leading the race, with 26% and Quinn was trailing slightly with 22% according to Quinnipiac.
