Lindsay Leveen, the expert behind greenexplored.com, sent along this alarming YouTube video, taken by passing drivers, of a new Tesla Model S on fire in Washington state (no injuries, language warning):

The video garnered nearly 200,000 views since it was posted on Tuesday, and dropped Tesla’s share price by a whopping 6% on Wednesday. The Associated Press reported that the car’s large lithium-ion battery, which runs along the undercarriage, caught fire after the Model S struck “a large metallic object” in the road.
