Yesterday, Obama’s twitter account was breached by hackers allied with Syrian president Bashar al-Assad.  The Syrian Electronic Army claimed credit for the hack.

A link posted to the president’s account redirected from the intended link, a Washington Post article, to a video about Syrian terrorism.  Organizing for Action, Obama’s political advocacy group, confirmed to ABC News that the account was compromised. “An OFA official described the episode as a ‘hack’ on OFA’s account with a ‘URL link shortener’ service. The links have since been repaired.”

In an email to Mashable, the SEA claimed they were “showing the truth about Syria.”
