The Washington Post headline may not say it all when it comes to the Senate race in Kentucky but it certainly says plenty.

Alison Lundergan Grimes and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day

Not only did the DSCC reportedly pull its spending on her race in Kentucky, what some view as a desperation-driven attack on Mitch McConnell drew criticism from of all people. MoveOn.org.

Grimes actually went after Mitch McConnell on amnesty and benefits for illegal aliens in a new ad. The McConnell campaign did not respond to a request for comment from Breitbart News on Grimes’ new line of attack.

Meanwhile, a statement from Mitch McConnell in the candidates recent debate received some scrutiny but came through a PolitiFact check rated as mostly true.

McConnell claimed that a Congressional Budget Office report said raising the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour “will destroy between half a million and one million jobs.”

The report said “roughly” 500,000 workers could lose their jobs if the minimum wage went up. But the CBO added that most likely the range was between very few to 1 million. McConnell focuses on the high-end of the spectrum on a range of potential outcomes.

We rate the claim Mostly True.

In other developments, Hillary Clinton is set to be in Kentucky campaigning for Grimes this week. That timing seems a bit odd given the DSCC’s decision to go dark in Kentucky, while shifting resources to Michelle Nunn in Georgia. Either there’s some bobbing and weaving going on involving the Kentucky race, or things are a bit out of sync as Alison Lundergan Grimes’ campaign begins to circle the drain.

At one point, she was thought to be the Democrats best hope to knock off a GOP incumbent. McConnell remains largely unpopular in  his state.
