An 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with entering a home, tying up its owner, and beating and robbing him, San Antonio police reported on Saturday.

An arrest warrant affidavit charged that Steven Anthony Martinez entered a man’s home last Tuesday and soon began to beat the homeowner and look for money and valuables to steal.

The homeowner said he opened the door for Martinez and, in short order, was beaten, tied up with a computer cord, and stuffed in a closet.

The victim also told police that Martinez held a knife to his throat and pushed him down on a bed before he was tied up.

The homeowner told police that at one point he thought Martinez had gone, but when he emerged from the closet, he found the unwelcome guest loading items into the victim’s car. Martinez then beat the homeowner and drove off.

Police report that they later apprehended Martinez.

He is charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping, the latter charge stemming from his crime of tying up his victim and imprisoning him in a closet.
