KING 5 News-KENT, Wash. — It’s roughly the size of a refrigerator door, made of carbon fiber and it fell from the sky in Kent Friday morning. What is it? According to the FAA it was the landing gear door of a Boeing 767. The large sheet of riveted metal landed in the middle of Southeast 231st Way near 128th Place Southeast in Kent’s East Hill neighborhood. Even now, bits of carbon fiber are embedded deep in the pavement. The Federal Aviation Administration, called out to investigate, identified the part as a landing gear door.
