WEAR–Pensacola, FL: A new study shows that manufacturing problems at pharmaceutical plants are causing a shortage of critical cancer drugs.

The study shows that more than 80% of cancer specialists reported a drug shortage in the past six months, and almost all say their patients’ care has been affected.

Some doctors are being forced to substitute more expensive alternatives. According to the new survey, 38% of doctors switched from a generic to a more expensive, name-brand drug, which can cause the price of cancer care to skyrocket.
