This weekend at the American Federation of Teachers Union delegates meeting in Los Angeles, Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) explained all those unaccompanied children crossing the border in Texas will end up in the education system in California because of new legislation that promotes “unequal spending,” which factors in if a child’s primary household language is not English when allocating education funds.

While claiming he was not encouraging the surge of unaccompanied minors to come to California, Brown said there has been a struggle in education spending to be equal “for decades,” adding “so rich districts shouldn’t get more money than poorer districts.”

However, Brown bragged in “California we’ve upended that we’re not talking about equal spending we’re talking about unequal spending. Those who have the biggest challenge they need the most money.”
